The Gobi Desert is a unique landscape of rock, stone and sand and extends from Southern Mongolia to Northern China.
Dinosaurs inhabited the Gobi sixty million years ago when it was a primeval landscape, a remote, eternal land with striking geological features.
Its climate is extreme: in daytime the temperature can be scorching hot and at night, very cold.
The huge Khongoryn Els Sand Dune that is situated in a long valley between two mountain ranges, forms part of the natural landscape and, located in front of the one hundred and twenty kilometre long sand dune, the green belt looks like a Fata Morgana.
The Gobi also has mountains and canyons, one of the most famous being the Yolyn Am, Canyon of Vultures.
The Gobi Desert is very much alive and is rightly known as, ‘One Of Earth’s Miracles’.
